G&C Fab-Con was a super sub-contractor for this project and self-performed approximately 99% of the work related to their subcontract, including the installation of 6,271 precast concrete burial crypts, 16,400 columbarium niches, backfill and compaction, and topsoil amendment/ placement.  This project was awarded to Forrester Construction (Prime), G&C Fab-Con, LLC. (Super Sub) in 2014.  G&C completed all of their subcontract work in 2016.

Construction Timeframe: 2009 - 2011

Development of a 90-acre site in an active national cemetery including clearing and grubbing, erosion control, roadways and curbs, landscape placement and maintenance, turf placement and maintenance, irrigation, new signage, site furnishings, renovations to existing administration and maintenance facilities and seven committal shelters, and a new guard booth. Approximately 80% of the work was self-performed with G&C Fab-Con as the controlling member in a Joint Venture project including repair and paving of existing roadways, as well as construction of over 8,000 linear feet of new roadways, supply of 28,000 concrete crypts and installation of 33,000 concrete crypts including triple and oversized units, and a complete columbarium complex containing 4,836 columbarium niches.

Cape Canaveral National Cemetery

Construction Timeframe: 2015 – 2017

Development of a 96-acre site for a new national cemetery including general construction, clearing and grubbing, erosion controls, roads, paving, walks, site preparation, storm and sewer work, landscaping placement and maintenance, turf placement and maintenance, irrigation, site furnishing, fencing, signage, flag assembly area, ossuary, three memorial walls, new entrance area, new administration building/PIC, maintenance plaza including main building and honor guard area. Approximately 25% of the work was self-performed including the installation of 17,700 interment sites comprised of 7,553 preplaced crypts, 6,800 columbarium niches, 2,752 in ground urn crypts, and 162 oversize crypts, all earthmoving, grading and drainage for six crypt fields. Additional work included 383 private plots and an early turnover area within 12 months of notice to proceed. Project followed LEED guidelines and has been awarded LEED Silver Certification.

This project will develop approximately 40 acres of undeveloped land to provide approximately 50,350 gravesites, including both casket and cremation sites in new burial sections. This project will also provide a new Honor Guard building, a new Satellite Public Restrooms, and renovations to the existing Maintenance facilities and Committal Service Shelters. Project will also address corrections and repairs as identified by the Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) Report, including lightning protection. The latest technology in energy efficiency, LEED and Green Globe building requirements will be incorporated into this project where economically feasible.

Development of a 25-acre site in an active national cemetery including clearing and grubbing, erosion control, 2,500 feet of roadways and curbs, sidewalks and site pads, turf placement and maintenance, landscaping placement and maintenance, irrigation, site furnishings, signage and two committal shelters. Approximately 70% of the work was self-performed including supply and installation 5,700 burial crypts, development of 8 burial sections for standard caskets and garden niches, and a complete columbarium complex with 38 walls consisting of 4,584 columbarium niches along with all earthmoving, grading, drainage systems for new crypt fields.

Design and development of a 30-acre site in an active national cemetery including general construction, general alternations, general demolition, clearing and grubbing, erosion controls, roads, paving, walks, site preparation, grading, drainage and storm sewer work, earthwork, landscaping, irrigation, site furnishings, fencing, signage, two new committal shelters, administration building renovations, and new honor guard building. Approximately 48% of the work was self-performed including the installation of 7,300 precast concrete burial crypts and 5,500 columbarium niches, all earthmoving, grading and drainage systems for four crypt fields and construction of two columbarium complexes totaling 67 walls.

Approximately 65% of the work was self-performed including installation of 2,800 preplaced crypts, and 2,000 in ground cremains sites, along with all earthmoving, grading, and drainage systems for new crypt fields.

Queen of Angels Catholic Cemetery

Construction Timeframe: 5/2019 – 12/2019

The 48-acre site is home to the first diocesan cemetery for lay persons in the Diocese of Orlando. The first phase of construction of two acres at Queen of Angels contains more than 1,300 pre-installed burial vaults, a cremation garden of more than 800 cremation burial lots, including an assortment of columbaria niches, and areas set aside for family memorials. In addition to the outdoor burial options, the cemetery includes a columbarium building of more than 600 indoor, glass front niches in an air-conditioned, comfortable setting.

Approximately 40% of the work was self-performed including fabrication, supply and installation of 10,031 precast concrete burial crypts and 4,140 columbarium niches, all earthmoving, grading, drainage systems for five crypt fields and the construction of one columbarium complex totaling 32 walls.
